Fuck 'em.

Wow when did they start that? I don't think I've ever heard of anyone not living next to the actual box having less than ~40ish choke, I thought that was the normal rate.
Well it happened to me and like 2-3 other guys in the server like an hour ago, none of us had ever been kicked for that reason :<
Fuck 'em.
Was this on Boatescape 5? Everyone was getting kicked (including me) because of choke on that map. Every other map seemed to work fine.
If it flys, floats, or fu***, it's best to rent.
try reducing cl_cmdrate and cl_updaterate if you use higher than normal values and see if it gets any better; there's no reason for those to be higher than the sever values anyway, it just means the server is getting pounded with more data. If the server is set to send 30 packets a second you aren't getting benefit by having your game set to 66 packets a second (and in fact are likely causing your issue if the server can't handle it.)

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that, for best performance, you want your cl_cmdrate set to the tic-rate of the server. In our case, cl_cmdrate 33 is the best value.

Yes, if your rate is higher then you're sending packets to the server more than its sending packets to you...you're basically doing things "in between" packets that aren't getting registered by the server. That's choke. When your settings are higher than the server's, you're constantly requesting more than the server is set up to provide.
Here's a good page explaining the network values and how you can improve network issues in-game.
Yea, thats Boat escape 5. Try adjusting your settings as we mentioned. Hopefully this will help you. An increase in the choke limit may be necessary if this doesn't help anyone.I have no idea on what version it was, i just play w/e map it is xd
it was the one with a helicopter, pods and the island with the nuke.

Until we fix the issue that's causing the server to require a reboot every few hours I don't think upping the rate limits on there is gonna help, it'll just eat up more resources that aren't available. Once that issue is fixed most of the choke problems should go away for people that are using reasonable rate settings.
