Crouch then jump after like half a second.
It took me forever to figure this out and every time I asked I just got "LOL LERN2CROUCHJUMP N00B" so I hope this helps someone![]()

A much easier way to do this is to face away from the box and jump backwards onto it.

It seems to suit you better bleeding out the eyes
running crouch jumps are more effective than standing ones
I've made fun of him constantly for not being able to jump.

Lmao Noob!!!!!!

It's kinda silly really, I mean it's EASY to jump on top of a standing player's head and they're TALLER than those boxes. You'd think mappers would be kind enough to maybe put a tiny invisible bevel or something to make it easier to land those jumps.

lol you should have learned how to crouch jump like 9 years ago in the HL1 hazard course. And you don't need space to do a running crouch jump to do a running crouch jump, just a couple inches if you have the skill.
Microshock: this is more than videogames
Microshock: its called HUMAN FUCKING DECENCY
Microshock: HUMAN DECENCY

Except that HL2's physics for jumping are completely different from HL1's, which is why acceleration jumping doesn't exist and circle jumping isn't nearly as effective. I think what's happened is that the boxes are ever so slightly above the maximum height a player can crouchjump so you need to abuse the physics a little bit to get the extra boost. That or they're exactly at your maximum jump height and you just need perfect timing.
