    ZombieHorde + Escape Maps = Cool?

    I have always thought about the idea of having Escape maps and ZombieHorde mixed together. Most escape maps were made for ZH first before editing to fit ZombieMod.

    For those of you who don't know what ZombieHorde is, ZombieHorde is like ZombieMod only all of the T's spawn as a zombie of their choice. Heres what you can range from:
    Fast Zombie: Fast Speed, Low Health
    Normal Zombie: Normal Speed, Normal Health
    Strong Zombie: Slow Speed, High Health
    Also when you get slashed by a zombie you don't become one you will simply lose health and later die if you lose too much health.

    The map zm_spacestationflee is a good example of ZombieHorde + Escape because the T's spawn in a different section than the CT's meaning that if ZombieHorde is enabled the CT's will get time to destroy generator and escape. As I have said before rather than having a random zombie spawn, ZombieHorde ensures that only T's will be zombies since all of the T's start as a zombie.

    Alright well I hope you consider this idea.

    I played zombiehorde when it was first introduced, but I preferred the gameplay that existed in zombiemod. This was before maps were made specifically for zombies. I haven't played zombiehorde since, but I do appreciate your point of view. Now that you mention it, maps like spacestationflee, boatescape, nostromo, and the old version of island escape did separate the CT's and T's, so playing zombiehorde on these maps might be fun.

    With enough support from the community present on these forums and the approval of the admins, I would like to suggest we try this out. Perhaps we could have a special session on the escape server on a specific day at a specific time (Jan. 10, 6 to 8 pm e.g.)

    i agree the bots are a blast, but i dont think servers can support 20 players plus the bots

    Well why not, when the zombies slash a human to death that he will become a zombie? And plus I already introduced this idea before of Zombie Horde, Haggard didn't think it was a good idea. Along with countless others like Body Amour being a shield against zombie slash in Napalm and stuff.

    I really prefer zombie mod over zombie horde, and I think the fact that some of the maps were made for zombie horde really don't make a difference, besides a slight challenge to some.

    I actually think it's not a bad idea to necro. I wouldn't mind at least the option of it, for some variety in the gameplay. Totally different tactics for each mod.

    One thing most people don't realize about the bot zombies in zombie horde is that you can control them with the radio commands. The zombies don't get pushed back in ZH but they usually only have like 200 or so health so one person isn't much good even against a lone human. All you do is spam "NEED BACKUP" and the zombies will follow you everywhere, then when you hit "GO GO GO" they'll follow the node graph and start hunting. If there's anyone around when you do it that means the zombie horde is probably the last thing they'll see, it's fun as hell. Human zombies work in zombiemod cause of the one-hit kills...in horde, even if you're sneaky, a human will almost always win one-on-one depending on the health settings. Bots really aren't the CPU hogs everyone makes them out to be, on a forum I used to post on we played with 20 bots on a 32-player server.

    TBH though I think zombie horde works best with the default cs maps (although I'm sure it would work great on napalm maps too if there was no cading, or some way for the zombies to destroy cades before they died which would be in about half a second). If you've never played it on prodigy, you really have to try it, the atmosphere in that map is PERFECT. There was also a sweet-ass city map we had that was pretty much pitch black, you could NOT see without your flashlight and it was scary as hell. Compound, chateau and havana are also particularly good. All the screens I posted in that thread in the art forum are from zombie horde...Probably most of my best memories in gaming are from the horde.
