    Ping Help please

    :cursing:When on the escape server my ping is always around 130!

    I have a fast connection and pings seem good on other servers....ANY IDEAS as this ping kills me!

    Is it because of your location? I'm in MD so I get super low ping when I log onto the server

    ping generally is influenced by your distance from the server more than anything else. High ping doesn't equal lag

    Jaffa's right.. High ping does not equal lag.. I average around 130 ping on all ZM servers, yet I rarely experience any lag.

    Typically when I lag it tends to correspond with my computer's cooling fan kicking into a higher gear(in a sense)...it might just sound weird but thats what I've noticed.

    I'm the same, although in my case it's normally the computer itself causing the lag (Pentium 4, ATI X300), rather than my ping/ server connection.
