    Need new headphones/mic

My cheap one has finally packed in so I'm looking to buy a more expensive one this time.

These are the really the factors I'm most interested in.

-No more than £25-£30 (or $40-$50) for the pair combined.
-Not an all in one, I want a desktop mic.
-Something that will last long. I'm fed up of buying things that cost lots of money and break quite easily. I don't step on it or anything.....but preferably something that's going to last at least 2 years.

Asking for advice because, I want some advice on what the best ones are for quality, durability etc in my budget.

Audio Technica AD700's and if you have a soundcard a non-USB mic so you can really boost the volume instead of being reliant on just windows+CSS like I am (hence me being so damn quiet all the time).

They're on par with sennheiser HD555's and 595's but for some reason rigth now they're $100 less than either.

I'm not really sure if I have a sound card or not...what are the signs

Also...quickly searching for Audio Technica AD700 brought me back with quotes of £80+.....so that's wayyyy too high.

My G35 was $105 and has metal and hard rubber all over. Plus a 2 year warranty, so for a little more you get quality.

Obviously, but I don't want to pay that much

I think it's best to save a little more and buy something that will last for a long time than to buy something cheaper that will break sooner.

This is the headset I have.

Rather comfy, decent sound and mic. Not a bad little headset for its price.

My £5 headset with a mic lasted me a year....why would I need to spend £60 for something to last twice as long?

Nice enough, but I'd rather have a desktop mic :?.

I'm not asking for too much to get some advice on what I actually am looking for am I?

I made a thread on another forum and someone suggested these

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-MDR-XD2...4860648&sr=8-7

    Any good :s

My only suggestion is to stay away from Logitech. I've had 3 Logitech headsets and they all failed in two months or less.
