About Suicide.

I was playing Surf and i noticed alot of players killing themselves before getting killed by other players,their reason was "im saving my rank".

Well, if they kill themselves they wont get any negative rank and if they get killed by someone else they will get negative rank.

I think that this is almost cheating, and i want to hear your opinion.

We should make a rule against this imo.

This is an ancient rankwhoring technique and is widely not accepted, however I'm not sure about our servers.

WHY DONT WE JUST MAKE IT SO THAT KILING THEMSELVES GIVE THEM NEGOTIVE RANK i think this is too extream for a ban, if it is impossable to make it so that the player who comits suicide in-game looses stat points , a ban is still sort of extream.. i think if you catch anybody doing this(and this is my opinion) you should just reset there rank and have them start from scratch

Because when you accidently kill yourself (in surf) and it's due to something like a ramp glitch, which happens A LOT, you shouldn't be punished with a loss in rank. You can also suicide when the round ends and you cant move but your still alive and you fall to your death.

Now, if there was a way to make a script or something to distinguish killing yourself via console or killing yourself by the "world" I think it's called when you fall to your death, that could maybe be helpful

Yes that was what I ment trogdor, I actually edited my post the second I posted, i tend to do that a lot because of my poor grammer skills that fail epicly. but I am pritty shure that a script could be made, the only problem with the scrips is when you play on the surf server you have a 60 percent chance of dieing from just poor surfing and with the new script in place, it would not be fair to the other players in the game that die a lot because they are actually surfing. if you get my drift.. I still think that banning someone for this is a little extreem.

I think maybe kicks and minimum of 5 min bann for players who break the rule is fair.. but im afraid that admins are gunna start giving out 3 day banns to the players and any ban over 5 min goes twords there 3 strike rule and i can just see alot of inocent players getting banned, well i cant really see this but I think its a possability. if you get what i am saying.

What would solve this issue would be to make a script that disables the suicide command in consol, it was done in zm where if you type kill it wont let you and ittl say somethin i forget xD. Or you can just demo em and post on the forum.
