That letter is brutally honest.
I'm sure Microsoft will take care of everything just fine. They ARE pretty successful. I just hope for the best and for Notch.

Yes, because it's petty RARE for Microsoft to fuck things up.

We don't need some fat fucking fedora tipping Swedish lard arse in the Mojang team who only sits on twitter all day throwing insults at anyone who disagrees with him. Microsoft is a good choice for this.
i don't even get this argument, before notch left minecraft development the game was one of the best games i've ever played. it had mod support, it had two different gamemodes where one was fully fleshed out and the other was getting amazing stuff. multiplayer worked amazingly and singleplayer was still fun.
like if notch would've stopped making minecraft after 2009 it STILL would've ranked as one of the best games i've ever played for $25 (though i purchased it for $15 or whatever it was) not to mention it was free for a very long time.
minecraft is, and was, a good game even under notch. is notch's personality perfect? fuck no, but i respect him because he's vocal which is what a lot of game developers no longer are due to fear of publishers smacking down on them. indie developers like phil fish, tim shaffer, and notch get a lot of flak for being vocal but the fact is that's EXACTLY what game development needs these days. valve is a perfect example of pr nightmare
I think while it is sad that they are no longer independent, this could be a really good thing for Mojang's current and future IP's. While Microsoft doesn't have the world's best track record they still have the potential to make things even better than they were before by giving the team creative power and more funding.
Idunno, I feel like we should try and be optimistic about the whole thing. It could be a hell of a lot worse, it coulda been EA
