    Map rotation thread

    So fgtz, are you tired of playing the same god damn TTT maps over and over? Well too bad because those maps are gona stay.

    What this thread is actually about is removing maps that are never played and are therefore pointless to keep on.

    Listen here you little shit, I have spent some time compiling some hard facts about map frequency. Statistics do not lie, and I will put an end to the shitty "5 maps" argument. There are currently 71 maps to choose from on the server. This number needs to drop massively.

    First, lets look at this cool ass graph I made. (Edit: sorry map might be hard to read, here's a link to the original http://i.imgur.com/3NjTT9p.png)



    The number count on the left signifies the amount of times the map was played with a reasonable amount of players to choose (and not just someone randomly joining the server when it's empty or something) within the past month (13/03/2014 - 13/04/2014). I couldn't be arsed to go back further than a month because the averages would more than likely be the same.

    The numbers on the right indicate the percentage of the total maps that were counted, which were 861 changes. This doesn't show much else but a little perspective of how often they are played.

    I'll fucking wreck you m8. This is basically it in a nutshell. All of these maps were played more than 10 times in the past month and these are actually in order of most played to least played (If there's no number it's a repeat of the one above).

    There is of course a danger than too little maps can mean not enough variation even if once in a while, so I'm not planning on removing every map that hasn't been played at least 10 times. However, these further down the list are probably gona be removed as what is the point if nobody wants to ever vote for it?

    amsterville is good but rounds can get long which might kill the server.

    cluedo is fine and would maybe get played more if people even knew it existed

    the suburb map with the traitor/innocent objective is fine though i do not remember which one of these it is

    de_port is real nice

    canyon is ok and used to be played a lot

    nexus is fun

    enclave is good but the fixed version that is on the server is a bit buggy

    countrytrain is same as amsterville (there's 2 countrytrains on the list)

    thething is just good but others don't seem to share my view

    district is really good and would probably get played more if people knew the map and recognized the name

    Obviously everyone has different opinions about each map. So for every map you remove, someone will get upset and cry and others won't. Also, statistics do lie. So don't base yourself too much on them. Imo, we should make a thread with a huge ass pole and pick some maps (each person can vote for like 3-4) and then remove the maps with little or no votes.

    Statistics DO NOT LIE. They are fact. What differs is your interpretation of the facts. Get real Sleggie.

    The maps that are never played but are good will stay. I'm wanting at least 20 - 30 maps removed from the current list.

    Also to be fair whenever the server crashes it defaults to borders. maybe a new default map is in order?

    I agree that there are many maps on the rotation which should be removed but I also firmly believe that as long as they do not negatively affect gameplay/server population then there isn't any real reason to remove them. Now obviously we should remove maps that everyone hates or never get played at all but if we end up removing enjoyable maps simply because they don't get played enough we risk players leaving because they get bored of the rotation.

    I am all for organizing an event where we go through each of the "unpopular" maps and have a vote. I suspect most players don't even know what most of those maps are. So lets find out how the community really feels about these maps shall we?
