changing steam id

my friend gave me his steam account with source on it, so i have been using that for the past year, but he decided recently that hes going to start playing again. i figured i would just buy source on a new account to avoid being constantly kicked off his account while he played, and incase he did anything retarded, i wouldnt get banned. are there any changes i really need to make or submit my new id to an account admin when i get my new account?
