Its a ridiculous issue in my opinion. Homosexuality is a lifestyle that in no ways hampers an individuals ability to perform in combat. Unless an actual rational reason is produced that shows that a homosexual's sexual preference will be a hinderence in armed combat then the current law is just blatant discrimination.

I agree, it doesnt effect how well of a soldier they can be but what the military has always been worried about is how will that gay person's unit act with him in it. Thus why they had the dont ask dont tell policy, because I personally know quite a bit of guys in the military where if they found someone gay in their unit, they may kill him in a flash. So I still believe gays have a place in our military, I just think they need to keep the fact that they are gay to themselves for their own protection.

Personally I just think that the policy of "don't ask, don't tell" is fine, nothing wrong with it.
If it's really that bad then oh well, the only difference you would have is that you would wank off to a different type of porn.
People who are homophobes can get reassigned to a different regiment or division.

Title made me lol... Nonetheless, "Don't ask, Don't tell" seems like a fine enough policy. Your unit reaaaallly doesn't need to be thinking about that kind of stuff, which would effectively decrease their combat ability on the field. Not that being gay is bad or anything, its that you just don't need to announce it to the world. It's fairly natural for a man to feel uncomfortable next to a gay man, its just natural masculinity and hormones that cause males to not necessarily dislike homosexuality, but just feel it's an awkward subject, lifestyle, etc.

In simplicity you can't see how any free country would discriminate gays.
Although I watched Bruno and had to laugh, America needs to get over homosexuality already.

Mine as well put all the Jews in separate platoons because I know a lot of guys in the Marines who are anti-Semitic bigots.
While we are at it, a lot of the white population in the military tends to come from the poorer more racist states of the union; I think we should keep racial minorities in different units for their safety.
New military laws should be in place so that people in the military can't talk about their political identity, religious life, or personal ambitions because we don't know who may take offense to an aspect of another soldiers life. This is all for the benefit of the military as we try to keep a more PG and politically correct approach to combat.
No one must be allowed to talk about themselves except in designated military arts and crafts classes where soldiers will be allowed to express their identity through macaroni pictures with the pretty glitter on it.
Seriously
