    Myself and a friend (T-bone) finally got around to creating an escape map. In a nutshell, a scientific research team as gone missing in a recently uncovered underground temple. You were sent to investigate and then someone turns into a zombie, activating an ancient mechanism that closes the wall/gate that protects the throne room. You have to make it inside the throne room before the doors are shut.

    *Screenshots seem a little darker than the in game lights.

    1st Screenshot: Shows the spawns for T (left) and CT (right). Straight takes you to the basement/catacombs, left takes you to an elevator, and right takes you through the main hallways.

    2nd Screenshot: This is a view from the elevator hallway looking to the elevator (left) basement (middle-left) main hallway (middle-right) and spawn (right).

    3rd Screenshot: Basement and Main hallway paths converge (basement comes from the left and the hallway from the right).

    4th Screenshot: This shows the entrance hallway into the main chamber. This is where the door/gate will be closing.

    5th Screenshot: Looking back from the throne room (safe zone) to the main chamber and then the treasure room (the last torch).

    Questions:

    So other than making the map public, I needed from advice / help with questions and concerns I have.

    Are you guys okay with the lighting? I know it's hard to judge this by screenshots alone but do you think a torch at the end of each hallway gives a nice effect or will turn players off?

    What props would you consider 'realistic' to be in an temple that has research being conducted in it?

    What would you consider an ideal round time (the doors are triggered at spawn so the round time is set in stone each time)? I'm thinking about 4:30 until the killzone takes effect.

    Concerns/Help:

    Need ideas for things to go in the treasure room.

    Since I lack an 'artistic' touch, I need help making items for the treasure room and the throne that goes at the end.

    If you check on fpsbanana, i'm sure you will be able to find custom props there to fit the map (http://www.fpsbanana.com/prefabcats/6)

    The main issue with presentation is to vary the textures you use and the lighting, maybe have some rooms lighter to produce some variation (like having more torches n main rooms, or bigger ones)

    ideas for props etc:

    maybe have scientific equipment scattered around the spawn area and coridors nearby, and maybe the coffin or whatever that contained the curse

    Unfortunately the mappers on FPSbanana don't do a lot of prefabs in the 'ancient' era.
