Few things before playing BFBC 2

1. Turn bloom off.
It blinds you literally and has been overdone and will save you 10-20 fps.

HOW TO TURN OFF:
1. Go to your documents folder
2. Go to BFBC2 folder
3. Double click on settings.ini
4. Find Bloom in the text file
5. Change where it says True to False.

And thats it.



2. If you cannot connect to the ea site for w/e reason hence not being able to make a profile. Use this.

Start up a command prompt as an administrator, and run:

netsh int tcp set global ecncapability=disabled

For whatever reason that only EA knows, profile.ea.com, and the in-game Cerberus network connectivity (connecting to gosredirector.ea.com) don't work if you have enabled ECN on your Vista / 7 PC.

This setting is disabled by default on Vista / 7 - so if it's enabled, you probably did it yourself, or know what you're doing.

If you want to check if it's enabled, run this from the command prompt:

netsh int tcp show global

It should say whether "ECN Capability' is enabled/disabled.

how to force DX9 on Vista/7 machines
Go to your Documents/BFBC2/settings.ini
and change dxlevel=auto to dxlevel=9
theres a comparison of them somewhere on the web, and you barely notice a difference except for the fps gain. Also you can't use anti-aliasing with dx9, so thats a downside.

I personally run DX10 so I can use AA, no lag for me, but this is for the others who lag shit tons in the game.

Who cares if the edges are a little jagged, the 10-20 fps gain is to much to pass off.

yeah ive heard AA isn't even a giant improvement tbh, just seems to love to lag me.

Get it for 360 :/. Yes the computer is always a ace of spades, but in this case unless you dont want to handle all the usual computer editing and refigs, just get it for a console. Its a pain in the rear for me.
