I am going to be working on making a TTT map based on the game Luigis Mansion... I will post updates and pictures onto this thread as I get them... This project will take me sometime to complete and would appreciate testers when I have a testable version ready.

I woulda waited on posting this thread until you had pictures :P
Anyway, I honestly hope this turns out well, the only problem being a majority of the mansion isn't really "Linked" like a TTT map should be.

I would have pictures.. but I currently dont got the textures.. Dirkjr is working on ripping em from the ISO.... hes found like 3 thousand textures(lots are 8x8 or 2x8)... searching through those for the walls and what not.. texturing then taking picturees.

Fairly sure that's illegal and will get your map trashed on gamebanana. (assuming you're uploading it there)

Yeah I know it does not look like much atm... I kinda paused this project for a few weeks because I was busy with other stuff... but then when I went to look for the map... I could not find it where I saved it and had no backups so I had to Restart... so here It is... about an hours worth of work so far...

I got a HUGE amount of layout complete, So much that Instead of doing like 4 Posts of 5 pictures I recorded a Demo ^ In the Link..
Forgot the Doorways in the 2nd floor first little area, going to start working on detailing soon... again thank dirkjr for this project (he got me the textures i needed)

lol I will start doing screenshots for the individual rooms when I start detailing... not for basic layout.. demo shows it all atm

and i edit the textures to not look so pixelly and some of the non matching textures (if ya look closely at the outline of the door you can see that the texture doesnt match up and there is a line seperating it)

Nice work so far, I can't wait to play this. I always loved Luigi's Mansion. Me and my friend stayed up all night trying to beat it a month or two after the release. Good times.

I am going to be doing this... I am going to get all the Major walls/floors/roofs and details on them first completely done on each room... then going back and doing those annoying prop bookshelfs (gotta either make new props or make them using blocks and functions)

This is really looking cool so far :D do you think you'll be able to go into E. Gadd's lab? Maybe even have some kind of FLUDD prototype just lying around, just for the fun of it?

I will be adding PART of e.gadds lab as a secret :) the gallery :) with all the paintings... which will have credits (ppl who helped me out) and each painting will teleport 2 where the boss was located (will have multiple mouseholes with teles to the gallery) so that its a major part of the map not an OP secret

lol those are the textures in the game... i just gotta edit them because some of them only cover half the wall and rest is with a diff texture... doing that shit later

Here is a Demo of the whole map and a few of my plans and lists of things 2 do
I did a whole lot of work since the last screenshots and if i wanted 2 screenshot it i would need 2 cover like 4-5 extra posts full of them lol... and yeah i did this in CSS again not Gmod :P using the CS:S hammer settings to make it atm... then adding the gmod stuff

Sorry for lack of updates in the past 3 days... progress has slown down a bit... kinda going around figuring out what i need 2 do or how i should do it... and creating those little props with hammer blocks is rather difficult making it look right :(...

Yeah it is a bit big... but only way to do it atm.. i tried doing it smaller but did not look correctly

you could always try using resize a little at a time.

i would try not to add every single room from the mansion, especially the rooms that are barely important at all, because it'd be a bit overwhelming

Yeah. It's less important that it matches perfectly, and more important that it has the feel of Luigi's Mansion, and is fun.

It would be cool if someone who played the game can go into this map for the first time and already know how to navigate it.

I am thinking about ditching the Luigis mansion textures... 64x64 textures in hammer just look awful... thinking about using default/custom realistic textures... will end up making my job in the end easier and look better... will keep layout the same and will still add cool secrets

I did some reworking with the textures and the layout of the map... i reduced the size of the map by about half and the layout now works better and the textures fit better because they are not stretched so much... Still got some editing to do with some of the textures to make them work but overall going to be good and stick with the luigis mansions textures

Billiards Room and Projector Room are being Switched in positions... going against the game but it will end up working better and fitting better if i do this...
Removing Observatory (for now untill i find a better way to handle it)
Changed Some Fake Doors into Real Doors for faster movement around the mansion.
