well about 80% of the time when i play bf3. the game goes bsod after 10mins. only been happening the past week. not sure why but maybe something to do with accidentally hitting restart button during windows update. (cant do system restore before that)

some help please. i get 4 different messages. think has something to do with directx since i get "Error 8 - There is a problem with your Directx." messages sometimes when fraps launches. but not all the time and i still get bsod.

Off the top of my head? Bad memory, definitely. I'd burn Memtest on a disc/floppy/usb and try that or use windows built in one (i can't remember how you access it... i think spam f10 before booting OS and after bios shows up. pretty sure it's f10, just mash the fuck out of it)
Then select Windows Memory Diagnostic or some shit like that, if oyu have more than one stick of ram in your computer, test each one separately.

If ram shows up nonconclusive, i'd dive in and try to pull a sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt window. dont do this before testing ram.

If it's neither of those, I'll see what else I can think of. Since you're playing BF3, I want to say if it's not RAM, it's gpu related.

but im pretty damn sure it's ram.

That's a bad memory error alright. Before anything I'd check it for kinetic errors by making sure that all your sticks and slots are clean and seated properly.

When you install the next batch leave the computer plugged into the wall and just flip the I/O switch on the back of the power supply or your surge protector. That'll leave you with a working path to ground.

yea i did that. works fine. i bought a 4 pack of 4gb gskill ripjaws. only used 3 since i have a triple channel motherboard. seems to works fine so far. no bsod. though when i do open applications it does take 2-3 secs longer. im using 12gb compared to 6gb before. though that isnt a memory issue.
