Quick Question.

I used to be able to dl 2mbs now my internet sucks and max i can dl at is 300kbs
not sure of the factors, but someone told me that the shorter the telephone cable connected to the modem the faster the internet connection. true?

i got like 3ft one connected now (had a 6" connected like 6 months ago). and if true, i tried looking at futureshop, best buy and circuit city but couldn't find any shorter ones.

I really disbelieve that would be the case.. Id check with your ISP and ask them whats up...

If you have a truly shitty physical connection you lose some speed but mostly you get packet loss and disconnects. Cable length only becomes an issue if the cable is so amazingly long that the signal flat out dies or you pick up too much noise. To put it in perspective I've got 60ft cables that work just fine.

First thing is to check with your ISP and see if its something they know about or can detect real quick, second thing is to make sure your bandwidth isn't being used elsewhere.
