I just wanted to bring up the idea of making it easier to find SG's tinychat on our website.
It would be cool to promote it in the same way as Ventrilo. :high5:

The problem with TinyChat is that the first person to join is the room moderator. There's no way to set a permanent channel that would be staffed by the actual SG staff.

I've never actually seen it abused though.

There's a reason the Romans built a wall to keep you lot out.

But if anyone abuses it, there is a ban option.

Are you sure? We have a list of moderators on /steamgamers
and I just tested to see if the first person to join was given moderator and it didnt.

TinyChat may have a register option to prevent it, but I'm pretty sure I joined it randomly on one of the first days I was here, and it asked me to create settings for it (name it, what permissions users should have, etc.).

i.e. Stuff I shouldn't have been able to do.

Just tested it now, though, and it won't give me the permissions. Perhaps it has since been registered, or the permissions only expire if it hasn't been used in a while.

Not sure. Maybe I'm misremembering and I typed in something else, or typo'd. I'll let an expert answer, I guess.
