its the front microphone port Please state your problem here
well pretty much when i plug in my headset into the green and pink port at the front of my computer the audio will work but the microphone wont. im thinking that the mic wire got unplugged or something but i dont know where its suppose to be plugged into :S

Seeing as you built your PC look up a diagram of your mobo on the web and find where its supposed to be plugged in. Though I doubt thats your problem because most of the time (in newer cases at least) the mic and headphones are all on the same connector thing plugging into your mobo.

yea its fucked up bilbo i can still use my mic since i have the usb adapter for it but still its bothering me

Update:

the mic port works now its just it wont transmit my voice into the game(css)

if the problem is only with the game since the mic port works fine elsewhere try running steam or half-life's microphone calibration program.

since it doesnt work in css:
a)make sure voice is enabled: voice_enable 1
b)Make sure its binded to a key.. :)


also does it work fine in other programs? (i.e. ventrillo, xfire?)

like it works in msn and stuff just not steam :/

If it's working in other programs, but not steam then you haven't enabled voice option.

Or, when you say steam do you mean the steam chat? Or do you mean steam games?

steam games and it is enabled. im running windows 7 ultimate if u can show me what to do that would be helpful
