My D-link gaming router (dgl 4500) is rerouting the address bar search engines of firefox and IE to some stupid dlink search that is powered by yahoo instead of google (which is what firefox has it set to). How can I disable this?

First I would try changing the IPv4 dns address.
Find you adapter in the network connections - Properties. Find Internet Protocol Version 4 and click properties on that.
Select "Use the Following DNS server" and on the preferred DNS Enter 8 8 8 8
On the Alternate enter 8 8 4 4
Try it again.
If you are still having a problem then press the windows key and R at the same time and type Cmd once run comes up. in Cmd type ipconfig -flushdns
If it still dosent work, let your internet set for about 15 minutes and try it again. If its still not working get back to me on this thread and we will check out your router settings.

Dial into your d-link router and disable that option, try 192.168.0.1 to start with.
