If you bid on this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300491205217) auction, you will get the game VVVVVVVV for free. Except currently the bid is at $1700, and if nobody out bids you... lol.

Either way, the auction still has another 7 days on it, so you will get outbid if you go now.

The guy that's giving them away. :] (http://distractionware.com/blog/?p=1501)

I'd rather just buy it for $5 than doing it through some sketchy auction.

Not risking my financial security for a free game..

it's a great initiative, but not for my wallet.
It's just a crazy thing to do :p

I was outbid in a minute, so meh. Since there's 7 days left there's plenty of time to still get outbid.

I was outbid in 10.

It went up $500 since I bid, so there's literally, NO risk.

Someone has a copy for me? I'm too scared to post a bet.

so there's literally, NO risk.

I think you'll find whoever wins the item will be facing much more than "NO Risk".

Item will most likely get removed from ebay for some kind of ToS violation.

I doubt it. Anyone who bids in less than 24 hours is an idiot though =\

"Should the winning bidder have a change of heart, the second-highest bidder will receive the item - should that bidder too decide that the price was a little too steep it will fall to the third bidder, and so forth. In the event of this occurring on a larger scale, it would take a lot of time to get the item to the actual winning bidder. Also, none of the retracting bidders will be able to take advantage of Terry's generous offer and their Ebay profiles will show that they have unpaid items in their history."

OSHIT.

Yeah the bids have slowed down. You probably have another day or two before I'd mark it as too risky to bid anymore. It still got over 20 bids today, though, which isn't too bad. (Not as good as 300..lol)

Don't you have to bid like $100 dollars now? In order to bid on the item?

$8300.

Just bought it for the 5$, or however much it costs.

Pretty great game and it wouldn't feel right bidding for the socks just for the free game when the goal was charity.

When you make the bid, charity gets an extra $25. Sounds pretty great for them if you ask me.

$8,800

Watch, the winner is going to get the socks, and in a few weeks time, they are going to be sold at a gaming store for like, $15.

Just saying, you know the bidders who win will back down because they just wanted a free game, they didn't even care about charity. It would be dumb to bid on this ridiculous pair of socks when there is no way I could afford it.

Jeez, thats getting way up there. The sad thing for that guy is that ebay is going to charge him 4% that he will have to pay out of that. Even if its a 100% donation ebay still charges a percentage of a buy it now. *Regular without donation is around 7-8%.
Which means he will most likely have to pay $300-400 to ebay.

300-400$ from the sum.
Since he said "Every profit I make will go to Childs Play". So the 300-400$ gets reduced from the money before going to the charity.
