A few months ago, my father got a job in upstate new york, so i knew this was inevitable. But today, i am leaving for New York. I am currently typing this via an access point at a mcdonalds in Wyoming.

I don't know that much about New York, except that its really cold this time of year, so any of the epople who live in New York could tell me what its like that would be great, like how the schools are, and when it actually gets warm

Thanks.

Also don't expect people to be as nice to you.

New York is the epicenter of unfriendliness

Upstate isn't nearly as bad that way, but yeah NY is definitely one of the shittiest states, sucks to be you.

What part/city of Upstate NY? I've lived in Niagara Falls my entire life so sadly I know this area all too well and it sucks. :] You have crazy people who drive around McDonald's parking lots with sombreros on. Other than that, typical rude annoying self centered I know everything about everything people.

No one knows how to drive, especially first snow of the year even though it snows for roughly 6-7 months of the year. glhfmoveawayquick.

Well, we go in at about 1 AM this morning, and were still basically unpacking. I went out for a walk around my new town around 9 AM. It's a small town (pop. 5000 aprox.) in orange county new york, about 20 miles away from Newburgh if youve ever heard of it. My town is very quiet and laid back from what i see right now, maybe from the fact that it is a Sunday, but im not guessing for now. But i will say that it is VERY different from bustling LA county.

Yes That is True, But Based On The Upstate Secessionist Movement, Those Two Counties Right Near NYC, Orange County And The Other One, Are Part Of NYC.

And Even If You Arent Part Of NYC, There Is No Way You Can Deny That You Are Pretty Much Their Bitch.

At the northern reaches of the New York metropolitan area, it sits in the state's scenic Mid-Hudson Region of the Hudson Valley.

What you quoted isn't even on the page :confused1:

Either way, nothing south of I-90 qualifies as "upstate"
