May sound silly, but are you SURE the Battery is charged OR the AC Adapter you are using is working? cuz if the AC adapter is broken then ur battery is dead, thus it cant run the computer..

Well then, its most likely a corrupt OS.. But you should check the RAM to see if its bad. If you need help checking to see how to take out the ram go here: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/5071313/how_to_remove_reinstall_memory_ram_in_a_laptop_com puter/
And IF you have more than 1 Stick of Ram take out one and boot the computer and see what happens and then replace that RAM stick and take out the other and boot again.
Are u getting any errors BTW?

Labarr you aren't reading at all. He isn't getting past the boot screen. It has nothing to do with the OS yet.

You can do a hard reset on your laptop by disconnecting everything including the AC and removing the battery and holding down the power button for at least 15 seconds. This will reset the BIOS. Then connect the AC without putting the battery in and try to turn it on.
