Whenever I move on Counter Strike: Source my ping spikes up, when I stand still its around 60-90 but as soon as I move around some it spikes to 500+, ive tried asking steam but they just tell me to delete some folders which ive already done.

Yea, never had problems with it before though. I use to get 17-25 fps on SG servers but when the achievement update came it went up, and caused the moving ping spike thing.

have you tryed stopping the server refresh that sometimes helps

do me a favor and check into the wireless internet fix thread here http://www.steamgamers.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29648

and then powercycle your router and your modem.

after that try running a traceroute to the dedicated server by going to start then typing run in the search box. typing cmd in the popup box and you should have a black dos screen. then type this

you have massive lag spike en route to our dedi server. one in orlando and one on the jump to the backbone outside NY.


Not sure what to tell you other then to say you may be able to call your isp and see if they can reroute you to avoid the bottlenecks. but youd need to give them the names on that traceroute on the level 13 and voxel addresses that are above 200 ping.
