Trouble In Terror Town- Silent Hill: Dark Prophet's

This will be my final and last map project i try to organize.
This map will be done in parts and will not be rushed.
The map will focus on all sides of the teams of TTT.

Down below I will have a list of plans i hope to get into this map.
I would also like your input for this map to see what you think it would need.

The map will be based Silent Hill: Homecoming

This map is objective based.

As you can see, its a mix between a town and farmland.
I'm thinking of having a town in the middle of the map and a bit of farmland surrounding the map.

Lets start Outside to inside the map.

The spawn will be at the silent hill sign with a broken bus.
So you start at the border.

First lets start with the outside border.
The border will be trees and a dark shadow so you can see into the forest.
When you get near the trees you will hear sounds of monsters etc.
If you walk into the shadows you die.

Lets move on inward to the farm fields.
In the farm fields area, you will have a few old houses and cornfields.
Each house will have a few weapons and a few traps.

Cornfields will have something i will call the reaper.
It will be a running model of a zombie and if it hits you, you will lose HP.
The cornfields will have sounds from a dog type noise.

Now into the town.
The town is the main area and will have most of the objectives.


The starting area of the town is a strip mall, with coffee shops, gun stores etc.
As you go deeper in the town it starts to become more spread out.

After the town there is the old silent hill.
The old silent hill is the old town of silent hill where in past events had a disaster.

Inside the old town, you will find a church in the middle and a few houses around it.

Now I'm going to talk about the objectives.

The IN's must find 6 powercells and put them in the generator.
When the generator is on, it will power up the town, repelling the shadows so the old silent hill town is open to you all.

Once turned on they must continue to the church.
In the bookcase there is a switch to open a painting.
Inside this room you will find hordes of zombies, kill them.
Go down the stairs and open the room.
Press the button.
The fields behind the old town are now open.
There will be a surprise in the maze.
Run north to the boat and escape.

The T's must summon the darkness.
The darkness is just your screen going black and you dieing.
The only way to survive is being inside the church.

The T's can call the shadows by blowing up a coffin.
To get to the coffin, you must find the shack near the church and enter the trapdoor.
The trapdoor will kill IN's and D's *Just like lost temple*
Once inside, go into the room and you will see the temple.

You will need a total of 3 C4's to blow it up.
When it blows up, you all have 50sec to get inside the church.
This might kill off the in's a bit to help the T's win.

And after this, just try to survive and stop them from escaping.

Summary

The map is a team based escape map.
The IN's need to escape before the T's kill them.
The T's need to kill the IN's before they escape, but here is a hint.
Help them until you reach the church part.

The map will have a limit to the guns and ammo you will have.
Some houses might have 2-4 guns but not the right ammo.
The ammo might be in another house.
But this will only happen to a few houses.
Most houses will have guns and ammo.


Guns will not be on the ground in plan sight.
You will need to find the guns to survive.


Hopefully this map will be enjoyed by all.
I am sticking to this idea but if you think somethings should be changed tell me and ill update.

who is going to work on what? i don't do roads well so i think i would prefer to help more on the "old silent hill" area,

I can't work on TTT maps, its just too much realism for me.

Although if this does become a real map project among players, then I suggest a few things.

/Take your time
//Design layouts in Dev
///Fix every problem you come across, do not leave it.
////Give jobs to every mapper,
- Layout
- Displacements
- Props
- lighting
- System
- Etc.
/////Optimize this your best.

Thats all I can think of for a big map project, so I wish you luck.

I'll help you out...i'm sure i can do some of the buildings and a bit of the landscape...just dont trust me with displacements...

I've never mapped for TTT but I'd assume it's a hell of a lot of work. I might be able to do some, but I'd have to configure my hammer for gmod etc.

You can use any half life 2 game for mapping ttt, but you cant use css.

I used CSS , compiled it and then re-arm in in gmod with a tool gun? Simple.



@Fullmetal, Alright br()ski. Maybe we can use Pyramid head models in this map?

Not for TTT.

Not everyone has ep2, plus TTT is based off of CSS. So that guarantees if you map for CSS, nobody will be missing stuff because to play TTT you have to have css.

And CSS. Or else you will get either ERROR or Black and Purple textures.

Well all of the weapons models and character models are usually CSS models or materials.

Plus map creators map it in CSS because that's how we're told to do so from the official website.

are you gonna have to change from normal silent hill to other silent hill at random with the air raid siren?

theres a silent hill mod on 1.6 i played that did that and it was cool.

I Don't really like ttt but sh fits ze better but anyway. Doing other game/movie copy it must be really close as it was in silent hill (I Like sh).

Silent Hill is hell of project, but I hope you do good work.

Also put some sh effects: Fog, Ash and wide open city.

wooops, i got that backwards, and wrong completely, you cannot use half life props, only css props (according to the official site).

You can use any game. This include hl2, dod, tf2, css, etc etc etc. The reason you should use css props however is because in order for ttt to run, it NEEDS css. Therefore when people play they won't see a load of purple and black square textures. It is possible that they don't have css and can still play, but a lot of stuff in gmod will be fucked up for them, not just ttt.

i will, but i need a design on paper (or PNG) before i can start on this. i havent played any silent hill games (my friend had it, he said it was gay. /MEME). ok im serious, i have not played silent hill so i don't know what it looks like. why don't we work on fortress? we have the design down but i havent worked on it as of late.

Textures are driving me absolutely INSANE. I tried to do the road, i really did. but the textures wouldnt align right and i nearly punched my monitor. i did the spawn bit, or a rough take. it still needs a sign though and maybe a sealed house off to the side. if someone (PhotoShop master) could make a sign texture and put it into VTF format that would be awesome. And if you want the VMF to add to it or add details, just shoot me a message. REMEMBER. this is a rough take and I SUCK at Hammer.

Oh, and the mud around the van is toxic, around 10 HP per sec.

i can't work on the map, my hammer has no grid! (and i am working on 2 projects at the same time, fortress beta 2 and a "little" tweak to canyon that will drastically change gameplay)

I was bored so I decided to do a hand drawn design of this, took about 10 minutes and is only the start of the map, I've stopped because I didn't know if anyone wanted this so if it's needed please tell me and I'll carry on and go over it in pen. It isn't that good as its only a quick sketch and in pencil so some of it doesn't show.
I was just following the details Full Metal has in his first post and started to draw the spawn area and half of the farming areas.

As i've said this is only a quick sketch and, to me it doesn't look that good but if a hand drawn design is needed I could continue on this one or create a new one, spending more time on it and adding in more detail.

i would work on this map but my stupid hammer only shows stuff in wire frame :/
and i get easily confused
i would of done the textures for the map if you told which texture should be used for which area or prop

Um...just by the way, I'm kinda done with my part, if someone wants to take the vmf. It's garbage, because the house needs retexturing, the crops are a grass texture because there are no models for corn or wheat, and...yeah. PM if you want it.
