Well, you can use an HDMI to VGA/DVI cable if your monitor does not support HDMI, and then use the regular fat AV cable and get a male to female cable, hook it up, and then hook that cable up that can make Audio-Video into that format you use for headphones.

I had the same issue with my ps3 and computer screen, as toxin said, get a converter and it should work, I had some difficulty with mine, it was out of range ect, if you do have problems, PM me.

well i know this but how do i get sound? i mean i found a VGA for the Xbox but what i need then is something to hook my speakers up to unless i buy a turtle beach or something.

its just confusing thats all. i heard there was adapters for this but i dont know what there called exactly.

see like these but how do i get the sound? http://www.buy.com/prod/xbox-360-hd-vga-av-cable-6ft-1080p-w-rca-f-to-3-5mm-m-adapter/q/listingid/74521272/loc/101/214425313.html

would this work? http://www.overstock.com/Books-Movies-Music-Games/Xbox-360-HD-VGA-AV-Cable-RCA-To-3.5MM-Adapter/4273969/product.html

if i plugged the speaker part into where my headphone jack is into my subwoofer? would that make the sound then come through?

You can't get sound, unless you plug it in to the pc like I did, the sound goes through my PC, the pc has to be on.

You can buy the normal VGA 360 adapter and hook it up through the VGA port of the monitor and to get sound, you can hook it up to an external speaker source or you can hook it up through the line-in port of your PC and have the speakers hooked up to the PC. The adapter will come with a red/white to 3.5mm converter to use it to hook it up to the PC.

hmm so your saying i use the adapter to plug into the green spot on my motherboard sound? then plug my speakers into the digital out port or the blue colored port? or is it the other way around?

For video:

and

For audio:

unless of course you have digital input for your speakers, then just get an optical or coax cable (depending on the connection) and go straight from the xbox to the speakers.

one major caveat though. my monitor specifically works with the cable, and as you can see the site warns that it may not work. In this case you may as well go and buy the conveniently made xbox-> vga as far as video goes.

then why not say an HDTV most of the time if its TV and then has DVI on it its an HDTV, ill just buy some of these and figure it out from looking at how its setup it should be simple. thanks for your inputs though.
