couldn't fix it so ive ordered a external sound card (http://www.amazon.co.uk/LINDY-USB-2-0-Audio-Adapter/dp/B000QY2G2U/ref=sr_1_27?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278860068&sr=8-27) only £13

would of ordered an internal one but mobo is shitty, the ethernet adapter broke about a year ago so i had to buy another one of them and my gfx card over hangs the pci slot so i don't have enough room to put another card in...

I had the same problem as you on my laptop, my vent sound would just suddenly stop then start playing everything everybody said, as annoying.

That can be caused by lag. Especially, if you are on wireless.
