I have tried to include everything I can think of in the SS, but avoided going into the little, less important things.

Which is right....

Production
There are several things to keep in mind when building things:
Practical knowledge: For every unit you produce, you will gain a particular kind of practical knowledge. That practical knowledge will, in turn, make the next unit of that type that you build cheaper in terms of IC days.
IC days: The best way to understand the actual cost of a particular item is to determine the cost in IC days. This is simply the IC cost multiplied by the number of days it takes to build the unit.
Serial & Parallel construction: Serial production is the ideal method for creating units: units are produced one at a time, which means the next in the series benefits from practical knowledge increases. Parallel construction is used to meet immediate needs: when you need a bunch of a certain unit type at once. As a result, parallel construction is much less efficient than serial builds.

According to you serial production is bad, whilst the guide you provided says otherwise.

Me, its an unfortunate issue which they haven't fixed yet, not sure how big the difference is between the two.

The guides nice but...it didn't really explain that much. I still feel like I'm sprinting in blind..but I guess practice makes perfect......eventually......

We can get a game going today for practice if you want.

If you start in 36 it'll take you a full night to make it to 39 lol.

Also I'm interested in the production serial/parallel stuff, does it only apply to the same units being made like infantry for instance?

The general idea is that the more you produce of something, be it infantry, tanks, or factories, each time you build one it increases your knowledge of that type, so the next time you build something of that type its quicker and cheaper (not a huge difference at start, but gets more as you go along and build it up).

Serial runs are where it lets you set a line of units, to be built one after the other, each time getting a bit quicker and cheaper to make. The problem is that this speed/cost bonus from serial run only applies to the serial run, rather than anything new you start up. They will probably fix this, or change it, when they release the expansion in autumn.

Right now I don't have a legal copy so...don't think that's possible. I didn't want to commit to something that I might just not be asked to play....so unless there's a way to play online for free I'll just practice single player :oh:
