I am sure most know but it seems to me many don't use them, "Prefabs" Who cares if its not original as long as the maps fun..anyways there are some new ones that would work great for zombie escape maps...would be great to see a map with several flyable helis, maybe even a drivable tank or pencil! hint hint

OH I want to drive a pencil.

Prefabs are great for anything static (buildings, terrain, stationary equipment, and such) - but if you're gonna have a prefab vehicle, make it into a real model and then use the model instead of the prefab. The engine has to do more work to get a, for example, prefab helicopter to have correct physics movement and such then a model of the same thing. Each "tied" component of the prefab slows down the engine. Models are considered one unit, and so are easily handled by the engine.

Unreal Tournament 3 uses almost 100% models instead of brushes because then more processing power is available to have a lot more, highly detailed models.

Like with the boatescape5_remix map on the escape server - the boats and chopper are prefabs, and so cause massive lag when a lot of players are on them. Things like the train from the atix_extinction and rooftopescape maps don't lag when they have 20+ players on them because the engine has an easier time handling them.

Prefabs are not used very much simply because they are massively inefficient. Find a way to convert those prefabs into models and you're in business.

And I tested it on my server and found that is very hard to glitch people off!

What does it look like..maybe a screen shot please....I am going to start work this weekend on a new map and might use yours or one on FPS Banana

I remember something like that on FPSB and Lost said it was a ported model from a different game and was illegal.

If it is what I think it is, you are very evil!
