Looks like they got rid of the boring ass driving around planets over and over part of the game which was what made me stop playing.

Might be tempted to play this, or AVP, arghh choices.

Red I have been playing ME2 and it is amazing!!! It is a must buy. They fixed so much from the first one. The gun play feels so much smoother then ME. It's not so clunky and the Story is amazing.

But AVP is something I want to try out too. I would say though if you liked ME, but had issues with some of the game play you will love ME2.

IGN and gamespot have their review of Mass Effect 2 up:

http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14235013/mass-effect-2/videos/masseffect2_vdr_012210.html
http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/rpg/masseffect2workingtitle/video/6246912/mass-effect-2-video-review?hd=1&tag=topslot;watchlink;1

Basically, they removed the copy and paste shitty "Warehouse" mission which kinda dumbed down ME1. They've removed planet exploration, now you scan the planet and when you find resound you shot prob down to the surface to mine the resource. resource is used to increase and research weapons and new upgrades for your ship such as better scanning system, bigger guns (Which are VERY helpful later on in the story) carry more probes etc.

For the other aspects of the game, just watch the reviews.

I'm recommending this to anyone who enjoyed the first or any other RPG.

By talking to her during down times onboard the Normandy and just agree with whatever she says. Valuable lessons indeed.

After every mission, go talk to her. When she asks you to do the Mission, do it.

Just curious guys.......got the game earlier today......played up to the first "recruitable" character quest.....now i really enjoyed the first one.....prolly one of my favorites..and thats because the story was awsome......I feel so far that is in the second one that thing have been going by "slowly". Now to those who have played a decent amount so far, does the story start to ramp up in epicness in the first one or is this more of a backdrop for the end of the trilogy when the 3rd game comes out. (By backdrop I mean they took less chances on story to make the 3rd one better.)

The armor, an assault rifle and sniper rifle.

And then some other stuff like sountrack, making of documentary and shit.

I dunno, I Just didn't want to regret NOT buying the extra crap.

If you had pre-ordered it, you got another extra armor in addition to the shit above.

There aren't many options when it came to armor and weapon selection. You couldn't even buy weapons, you found them and researched upgrades for them. Needless to say I enjoyed the new inventory, just wish they gave you little more to play with.

no, dragon armor is if you own dragon age and it is connected to your bioware account, with deluxe u get Collector Armor and Assault Rifle, Incisor Rifle and if you preordered it some kind of inferno armor

and yeah they should give more, they gave me some msuic and artbooks but i doubt im ever touching that!! lol

So I Played for 8 hours straight last night. Curse you bioware!

It's addicting as hell, and time literally flies by, scary fast. I actually enjoy looking for minerals/resources.

I need to google where I can find my deluxe armor/rifle crap.

I'm playing as good ole soldier, I enjoy Adrenaline rush + headshots far too much to risk using another class, even though vanguard looked fun.

the armor i got from the preorder from game stop

the collector chitinous armor uses advanced regeneration amplifiers that allow you to move faster, take more damage, and recover health in real time. the collector assualt rifle is built to strip shields off enemies with little effort.

taken from the card that came in my case

This.

They wanted to focus more on the action, which meant dumbing down a lot of the inventory shit.

The skills, the armor selection, the weapon selection, needed more scenes (like the normandy and joker one, if you got there, you know what I'm talking about) free roaming, no more buggy. Way too much dialogue to be an FPS, so I don't know why they made it more FPS based. I mean there is nothing wrong with it, just felt like this one didn't have too much replay value, you just play the game and you are done. I didn't feel like I made too much progress when playing. It was well worth it for the story though.Very well worth it.
I liked how there is no more inventory though.

i personally disliked what they di with the skills, armor/weapon and inventory
i liked that i could switch out guns and shit, and upgrades on them and diff bullet types

from what it sounds like there isnt that many scenes like the normandy one, but it was so awesome i want more. im only like 7 hours into it so im hoping your wrong kennith and that there are more cut scenes

First 5% of game, and last 10% of game, no more cutscenes. No more climatic scenes. Thats not the normandy one I'm talking about, the one I'm talking about is in the last few hours of the game.

Loved the game, was really fun, I played ME1 once at a friends, sorta liked it, didnt expand on it. I played ME2 as a Soldier, I had no ME1 saves so i just followed with the plot they had built on.

I completed the main story plus a few side missions in 19 hours, out of the 3 days I had it. Was very addicting :)
i liked the combat system, was sort of like GTA4's but it wasn't complete and utter shit, I liked how you couldn't "blind-fire" either. One of the things I hate most about ME2 was the lack of guns however, there were only 4 assault rifles (revanents assault or w/e it was called, collectors assault rifle, the beginning assault rifle, and the battle rifle)
Also
you fight the terminator as the end boss no joke

I got to bang miranda also, not anybody else though simply because
i had tali killed at end game mission, and you had to choose between sexing miranda or jack, i chose miranda

also:
i felt the end mission was extremely gay, all you did was ask certain characters to do certain tasks, it was simply asking each character to die. and most of them did, the second strike team leader didn't however.

They have to be loyal and you have to select the right people for the right job

Vents: tali
Escort crew back: Grunt
First secondary squad leader: Garrus
Second secondary squad leader: Miranda
Biotic bubble: jack

Make them loyal... buy there upgrades like Mordins tech upgrade and jacks biotic one and do the IFF mission quickly.

I used Miranda for 1st secondary squad leader, Legion for vents (Unloyal and he died) 2nd secondary squad leader was Jacob and Samara was bubble. The only other death was Jack and she was also unloyal so I believe it all has to do with loyalty. Also I didnt give the crew members an escort, fuck Doctor Chakwas hate that bitch.

I would have to agree with this, not exactly it being the best game though. It wasn't as good as the first in my opinion; more forced and it just seemed a bit too short and nothing seemed to have the same excitement.

I decided to purchase this for the PC though, so that could have influenced a great deal since they already had a default foundation if you didn't import a character. I don't know though, it really didn't seem to be that great.

A lot of it felt a bit like playing in autopilot when considering details such as money, weapons and gear, other types of upgrades and the lot. I know some people hate starting from scratch, but this seemed a little too much like, just continuing with an already premade character. I don't know how else to explain it really.

I would give it maybe, an 8/10 myself.

Wrong.

I disliked it for some of those reasons as well.

Playing ME2 annoyed me in the sense of content. It really didn't have much. It was an awesome game in the sense that almost every single decision you make, effects the outcome of the game. Also I loved how things you did in the first, translated over to the second as well.

However, some things annoyed me about the second game:

-It was a bit too short: The first game, granted you spent time driving around on planets, it seemed to me that there was more side-missions than the second one. Though, I'm not too bothered by it.

-Terribly low amount of weapons: Bioware promised us more 'guns and stuff to blow people up' in that preview they did for ME2. I was really hyped about this. Only to be disappointed entirely. They took out grenades, and added Heavy weapons. Then they took out weapon customization. Like comeon, it's nearly a DOWNgrade from the first one.

I enjoyed changing up upgrades on my weapons in the first one, I found awesome combination's for my weapons and got the feeling of believing I was unique to other people playing it. ME2, not so much. I knew everyone had the same weapons as me, everyone had the same upgrades, and everyone did the same damage as me if they were my class. The only slightly unique customization classes got to differ your character's class from others was the option on the ship to specialize in another weapon. (Note: This is at the sacrifice of a really good version of one of the weapons you already own) I wanted an assault rifle as a Infiltrator, but I'd miss out on a nearly 100% of the time one-shot-kill sniper rifle, so I was nearly forced to get that instead.

-Ending is wayyyy too random: I can understand (generally) why they made the ending the way they did, to reflect your choices upon how the end is played out. But, it's way too random. You could have been nice to all the people on your ship, gotten all loyalties, and still have someone die on the last mission, for seemingly NO reason at all.

All-in-all, I love ME2, I just hope ME3 brings back some more customization in the sense of making your character unique and your play through unique compared to other people playing the same game and class as you.

wait for DLC, they are probably going to release new weapons and armors every 2 months or so.

I bought ME2 and have only put about 3 hours into it so far, but am thoroughly enjoying it.
I'm just curious, I never played ME1 and I know the story builds upon the other. I believe ME2's plot can stand alone, but do you guys think I should buy and play through ME1 first, or just keep enjoying the game I've already started and play it through with the scenario and history ME2 gives you. I'm already having fun, so is there a necessity to play ME1?
