----------------
What you need to understand
How do build a simple map.

----------------

Ok, if your reading this tutorial then it's because you have NO idea how to do rounded corners, or need refreshing.

I have seen so many good maps, but the one thing that stops me giving them a 9, 0r 10 is rounded corners, im going to show you one basic technique that will give you a rounded corners, in a matter of MINUTES!!

So, what are you waiting for?

-------------------------------

Open up your Source SDK, and then open up hammer.

Open up a new file, and make to walls that connect (with a gap where the corner should be, see image for detail)

-------------------------
Next, while having your object create tool selected, you will see a selectable area, what says

"Primitives" (Ready made objects)
Under that you can select from

"Arc"
"block"
"cylinder"
etc...
I need you to select

"cylinder"

just under cylinder, will will see

"Faces"
Change that number to 24

Then fill in your corner (Have it twice as big as your corner should be, see image for details)

-----------------------------

Next, you will need to select your

"Carve"

Tool,

Then carve away at the part of the cylinder you don't want people to see;

As you can see, a little line has appeared in the middle of the cylinder, now just click "enter" this will delete the part of the cylinder you selected with the carve tool. (Highlighted in red)

Congratualtions!!

You have just made your first rounded corner!
