As I read from various sources it looks like that

Counter-Strike 1.5
Counter-Strike 1.6
--->Counter-Strike: CZ
--->Counter-Strike: Source
Counter-Strike 2

CS2 will connect to the 1.6 and will have the same gameplay as in 1.6... everyone that played in 1.6 noes that it can be much harder than in source... Valve even said that CS:S isnt really the new Counter-Strike it is just a remake that came with the Source bersion..

The new CS2 will be based more on the cs1.6

Do you people have any more thought or did u here something about it?

ya it should be like crysis graphics and maybe add a campaign that revolves around the virgin islands or something and its completely free roam your not being directed to go here or go there or anything.
there should also be game modes like the nazi zombies on cod5.
just make it a dynamic game rather than being simple for people to release their own mods.

What do you base that opinion on? There's already Counter-Strike Online in South Korea being beta tested. There aren't too many details about it. It sounds like some sort of subscription based game. It definitely would be nice to have Counter-Strike on a better engine that allowed vehicles and such. We need to keep Zombie Murder though!

im pretty sure they'll offer it in the CS anthology pack, the valve complete pack, the standalone game itself, etc.

imo, CSO is going to be a rock-bottom franchisers game that will suck balls. calling something "ONLINE" whilst all the other CS games have online play, is just plain stupid.

Well along time ago a MOD team was working on CS:Pro mod and it was sopost to be a mix of CS:S/1.6 I'm not sure if this mod is out yet or if they stop'd working on it.

If they ever make a HL3 im sure they will pump out a new counter strike but i don't think there will ever be a cs:2 just remakes of the old cs. just my 2 penny's :gtturtle:

Gabe Newell did an interview with g4tv and he mentioned some new projects (ala references to orange box 2.0 = hl3, p2, cs2). Wish I had the video bookmarked where he actually mentions Cs2.

If Cs2 wants to compete with this generation's games, valve has to get a new engine for sure. A single player campaign/co-op would do wonders (escort hostages, assassinations, etc) or more game modes. As for graphics, that's not the most important thing for me compared to gameplay, since I don't play css for the graphic of course.

Never touched CZ. But still a single player game with terrorist campaign would be sick. Like take hostages in a bank or some shit and escape through a tunnel. Or as CT's escort a high personnel target from a-->b while avoiding sniper fire.

If they did it right I'd say the single player would be amazing. Think along the lines of that one mission in cod4 with the plane (mile high club?) except longer.
