It is, but there's so many fucking problems with the production that you won't see it for years. It's been put on hold.

There was a trailer I saw of it on YouTube, and some comments hinted that it had been cancelled. But, nonetheless, it does (at least some of it) look alright.

This 'rumour' has been around for a while, at some point Peter Jackson had been apparently picked to direct, but you'd think that, as it would have microsoft behind it, there would be more info around.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the games, add to that the fact that game-movie tie-ins aren't always the best movies and you get a good chance that it'll make a load of money when it starts, but'll end up as being rather shite.
