I know I talked to Haggard about this, but I just wanted to know what others thought. On the regular CS server there is now no skins for guns...what so ever. I personally can't stand the regular skins...so that is why I DO NOT USE THEM lol. He said that he doesn't want people to use the laser dot skins because it gives the advantage to those over others. This is true, but why not just get rid of the guns with the laser dots...not all of them.

I do play better with the skins because I have played with them for so long. Most of the ones I have found with laser dots are only m4 and scout...maybe the occasional ak-47. *sigh* Just tell me if you think we should allow skins again or not allow them.

You can't rule out custom gun skins without ruling them all out. There's a plugin that makes it so you cannot use gun skins and forces you to re-download regular ones into a folder for the server to force you to use. There's no picking which weapon skins it rules out.

As for skins I personally don't care, I don't use custom skins anyways.

I use a custom knife skin just fine on the server, i want to get more skins, that just make the guns look cool. If they give someone an advantage then oh well, The person prolly sucked that much at the game to begin with and need to get help.

QFT! What ends up happening is you get used to the skins and then when your forced to use the regular skins you fuck your self over because your used to the skins. I 100% agree with what haggard did. Some skins give the player a higher advantage and make it unfair. I used to use skins they were alright. I dont use them anymore.

I was the one that suggest he use the sv_pure setting to stop people from using laser scouts and brag about noscopes like they earned it pfft. #l2play

Not only that but there's access to skins that bright blue & bright red that aren't hack skins but indeed skins that you can use just changed hue/color on to make them easier to spot. You can find just about any skin on fpsb & I'd like to see legit players rather than people using skins.

I'm interested in how many people's gameplay will change now that defaults are enforced...hmm. :notrust:

Alrighty, I only use the M4, Scout, Deagle, Dualies. So that isn't so bad for me I'm really good with scout skins or not. Will custom sounds still be enabled, cause I have tourettes guy's yell whenever I die.

I use default skins and I still frag normally. What do skins really do? Give you a confidence boost? To be honest if you're using them to give you an advantage then I say good day to you because if you ever try to move on to competitions you'll get a big slap in the face regarding them. Even if you're not there are a ton of good servers that have sv_pure set to 1 :P

I hate this, because when a server makes it so you can't use skins, you have to go and delete all of them just to play on that server.

i don't think so other servers just set your skins to default.Your skins will come back when you join another server.

It just forces defaults, if you join another server without sv_pure set to 2 you'll be able to see all of your skins.

You don't get lag from MOST skins. There are only a few on fpsbanana that will lag you, and those are the ones like OMG WTF SO SHINY! The phong is what lags you along with the detail under the phong. Overly phonged guns usually get a bad rating anyways ^_^ Trust me on this I thought the same thing.
