Requesting SG Banner

SG is in need of a banner, and we have been graced enough to have quite a few artists in the community!

For those of you interested, the specs are as follows:

- Image size 450x125 pixels
- Must have the Steam Gamers name on it

Try not to get too extreme where it's hard to read and cluttered, but let's see some of that artistic talent!!

Can I also suggest an actual logo for SteamGamers? We've never really had one. Currently we just have SteamGamers in the top left with Steam being grey and Gamers being white. I think it'd be nice to have an actual graphical logo.

That's just something I'd like to see though.

I was actually going to suggest that we make several banners and have them randomly change when you refresh. Ive seen other communities do this and its pretty sweet

Yea I have seen others do this aswell, it like a certain HTML code that allows this to be done.

450x125? The banner yall have now is 960x125. Do yall really want it that small?

It's actually not for this website lol, it's a banner used for a link back to this page. Wolfservers, our host, puts banners on their site to link back to their clients and we still haven't given them a banner to use yet lmfao.

As for the banner for this site changing, I like that idea. I'll have to talk to some people and find out if they'd like that or not.

Not forgetting the BWGT banner which goes up every week so doing that would mean having to edit 2-3 banners for it?

I usually dont gloat but I think the banner I made is better then 90% of those banners on that page :P, but as far as missing something im not sure, hmmm maybe text should be bigger?

As for text bigger, I think that might be it. I think it's because in 1 corner you have SG then in the other you have Steam Gamers. Try making the Steam Gamers text bigger & then put a 70% opacity on the logo and put it behind or somewhere around the text and see what that looks like.

hey drox... how about u take the ct on the right and put a black and white gradient map on him to make him flow with it since he is just there right now and then u take the text and u make it like 40-50px or something mediumly big and then u take the logo and u make it bigger than the steamgamers text and put it behind the text somewhere.. like in the middle or something. thats what i would do but its up to you =D

Well I was kinda aiming for him to stand out like how our forum banner is since he isnt apart of the background image. But I'll try some of the stuff u suggested but idk, I kinda like how it turned out. :P

How would you feel about a floating image over top of the banner? Just leave space for the overlay on each banner. Would also make it easier to switch out as well.
