I did not update to cupcake. I had not gotten it sent to my phone yet when I stopped using it. BUT Niko may not want it to be updated since he needs to root the phone and will have to do stuff to it.

Hey suri, apparently you can call t-mobile up and tell them ur going out of country and you would like a unlock code, and they give it to you. could you try this so I wont have to pay for an unlock code for ATT

Yeah I can try that tomorrow. How much is it for the code? And I bet its the same code for every phone.

the codes for the phone are different because they are based off the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) of the phone. Codes can cost up to $30 dollars because an expensive program is used to calculate the unlock code based off the IMEI. Apparently T-mobile is willing to provide the code for free to a customer who is going outside the country. that is why i was wondering if you could use your social engineering skills to get one from them

Say you are going out of the USA and need to unlock the phone to use the prepaid cards. They WILL provide it for free to their current customers.
