It's hard to name just one. It's gotta be Nick Menza back during the hay day. He'd massacre his drums live and still play with precision.

Neil Peart, hands down.

I'm going to have to agree with Wrath here, Peart is probably my most favored drummer.

My most respected has to be Rick Allen, the drummer from Def Leppard. Anyone who can drum with 1 arm and use kick pedals to compensate for other arm is fucking amazing. The dude lost his arm in a car accident and it didn't have hardly any effect on his drumming skills after.

I really like Brain Mantia (Primus/Buckethead/Guns N Roses/etc etc). His grooves are just fun and he's got great energy.

I'm not saying whether or not I think he is/isn't the best drummer, because that's a fucking retarded statement to make about any drummer. I just really enjoy his playing and style.

Travis Barker.. Simple beats are sick, and Aaron Gillespie from UnderOath, also I have to throw Meg White into there.

I really want to like this guy as a member of a band but he plays in very few songs that I like. As a drummer though this guy is incredible. He at one time shattered 3 world's fastest drummer records. He teaches at Berkley... lucky fuckers.

Him in the studio doing drums for Annihilator's Weapon X. Non-goofing around begins at 1:25, and good god the rolls are so fun to watch.

I agree most with Neil Peart. Canadian, and from Rush (one of the greatest bands ever :)). Definitely agree with Raven on Rick Allen too, but he isn't the best by any stretch, just respectable.

Glad to see Travis Barker nominated, very talented drummer, but I DEFINITELY agree with Bad Dog. I hadn't seen Mike Portnoy nominated yet, and he is rank good :o.
