Saw one of these on the page, I figured I might as well do one anyways.
So, anyways, last year, a friend of mine introduced me to this game. We played co-op over LAN and I fell in love.
Graphics: Although they aren't considered good nowadays, they were quite good considering the graphics engines they had at the time, and I would even say that I like it better with the shitty graphics. The way the lighting was done is sort of a cult now, apparently, my aforementioned friend told me that he knows a forum that's striking against how bright the third Diablo is going to be, irrelevant, but I still think it's an example of how much of a cult classic this game is.
Sound: Nothing to really write here, sound's fine in game and the music's ok.
Storyline: The average RPG storyline, interesting enough to keep the quests relevant.
Skill System: This is possibly the best skill system I have ever ran into, the three different disciplines in each class provide for limitless builds and strategies, I myself made an Assassin Tiger Striker, (which btw, is pretty own.), and it's a load of fun seeing how much the game differs if you move a couple of skill points around. Also, the stat system ain't half bad either, it's fairly straightforward, so as long as you know what build you're going for, you can pretty much figure out which points to put into which stat.
Gameplay: Diablo II is that kind of game where if you change your class, the difficulty and style of gameplay changes dramatically, in my current build, I have 1-4 hit kills, and 5-10 hit kills for mini-bosses and even bosses. But if I had chosen an Amazon or something different, I'd probably be hammering away at the enemies health for a much longer time.
All in all, I give this an A, a 9/10. BUY THIS GAME NOW. Or PM me for a *demo*. ;)
