Symphony X is better than Dream Theater in my opinion as a Prog Metal band

I think Russel Allen's Vocals are top notch, and the ancient mythology themes do the trick for me.

Besides, Dream theater should be a cover band, they do so many.

Well to be honest I am in transition, but I suspect I will stay where I am now.

I used to be a fan of pop v_v (yay 7 club seven and spice girls) but that was when I was little :closedeyes:

Then moved onto rap............ (yay 50 cent :thumbdown:) I didn't know better everyone else liked them :sad:

I always liked bands like Coldplay and U2 but I've moved on from the others and gotten into other things I like. I still like some RnB like Kanye West and Usher but my main loyalty is in indie rock and light metal. I did forget however that I like Calvin Harris too, can't stop dancing to some techno :001_tt1:

Cold - The most fucking perfect band ever.. Their selftitled album is the album that I would consider absolutely perfect.. I can listen to it constantly from start to the end and just feel so many feelings..

Seether - Awesome band.. Great songs..

Staind - Well, why not? .. They're fucking staind..

Creed - Yeh, really, Creed has made some sweet sweet songs!

Rise Against - My most "punked" fav's.. Pure elite, really..

Bush - What a shame they split' up .. I would say they were even better than Nirvana!

Nirvana - Love most of their songs, tho' I dont listen to it that much .. Have heard it so many times by now ;)

Hell Is For Heroes - Another band that has made a perfect album for me .. The Neon Handshake = THUMBS UP x 10000 epic's!!

Muse - The lovely, catchy vibes caught from first listen..

Grinderman - Or really Nick Cave in general.. Something fascinating about him and his music...

Trapt - For great, great tunes as well!

Metallic and Megadeth are very different band, mainly thanks in part to the vocals, but I can't say a Megadeth fan has to be a Metallica fan. I like both, but some people don't like the more serious tone of Metallica and prefer the more jovial and positive sound and feel of Megadeth.

Take High speed dirt for instance. Happy, fast, and clever. now The black album is nowhere near as fast and fun as countdown to extinction as a whole.

Dave's vocals are awful, and as a fellow fan of Megadeth, I know this and will admit it as anyone else should, but they add so much character to the music it makes it more interesting.

Yes it is possible to like thrash and not like Metallica. It couldn't possibly be because Megadeth is my favorite band that they're number 1 on my list. If Metallica weren't considered pioneers, I firmly believe their musicianship alone could never garner the fan base that they have. I don't care to even acknowledge bands just based on reputation, I'm firmly about the music itself.

I like Megadeth's heavy stuff, their softer mainstream stuff, their old stuff, their new stuff, and their experimental stuff. Yeah sure they have songs I don't like, but it's impossible for me with the exception of Risk and The World Needs A Hero to pick up any other album in their catalogue and not name at least three songs that I like and listen to regularly. I think that's huge for a band that's been around for 25 years with a back catalogue of 11 studio albums.

EDIT: The tracks I like from Risk and The World Needs A Hero are Insomnia and Promises respectively. The rest of the stuff on both albums are meh at best. Breadline is an abomination. I guess Prince of Darkness from Risk is okay on second thought. I don't count Dread And The Fugitive Mind from The World Needs A Hero because it appeared on their first greatest hits album first.

Love how my post is still the most recent freaking 8 months later. Anyway, UPDATE TIME!

Since then I haven't really dropped any of those 5 bands, but I added one and I can give a more certain order.

1. Icon For Hire -Discovered them in Jan and fell in love. Since then I've met the band and interacted with them quite a bit both on social media and in person at Warped tour a few weeks ago. The guitarist even follows me on twitter and gave me a poster when I met him for being so active with them on social media XD Def my fav band and some amazing people. That's their flag in my avatar actually.

2. Katy Perry- Katy is really tied at 1 but at the moment I'm more into Icon than I am Katy.

3. Halestorm- Met them back in May. Really nice people and great band.

To be honest, I haven't listened to their first album. I have heard all of their singles from that album on the radio, but I am a really big fan of their new album because basically every song sounds completely different and are all different sub genres. I really like his voice and instrumental too. I am assuming that their first album is really good too, I just haven't gotten it yet. RIP
