Make a rule against it plox. If the person bumps it to serve no purpose it's really annoying.
Stickies and VERY important don't count though. Just regular threads, like OFT ones.
BTW: How to edit/cut long demos should be stickied in my opinion.

AOs should just lock them if they're bumped.

I thought this was a rule anyway lol...
If it is then the people who do never get anything done to them :P Sometimes people leave a small indirect warning like "Nice bump". But other than that they usually shrug it off and continue lol. Mr_cap for example... he's bumped a lot of threads and has gotten away with it Lol

Well handing out forum bans for bumping old threads is a bit extreme especially given conflicting etiquette between forums. Some places prefer you search for a thread dealing with a particular subject before you make a new one, posting in one if it exists. Others don't mind if you make a thread about a certain subject as long as any previous threads on the subject are sufficiently old.
Also, we have tons of useless posts in threads. If someone bumps an old thread with a useless post then we can't ban them for it unless we're prepared to ban for idiocy ;).
So the general rule of thumb is to lock bumped threads if the bump is particularly worthless. However, if a person decides to restart a thread and gives a meaningful post, it should remain open, although I doubt they will get many useful replies.

i can see where you are going astrum and i agree, but bumping stuff like months old introduction threads are just lame.
And not a single fuck was given this day

With the 3 BD's in agreement with what Astrum said, such threads should be flagged and locked by moderators (AO+)

As an addendum if people are bumping old thread after old thread then I may make it so their posts are moderated (must be approved before showing). This is only going to happen in extreme cases though as it sucks checking the post queue. So if anyone is being exceptionally bump happy, feel free to contact me and I'll add them to the moderation queue.
I'll mark this as applied =).
